A Bunch of Videos Featuring Mr. Alan Moore

22 March, 2008 (07:09) | Comics, Video | By: Loris Z.

While struggling against insomnia, I end up finding a lot of videos on Youtube featuring one of my favourite writers.

Here, Mr. Moore discusses magic, religion and his worship of Glycon:

V For Vendetta:

Watchmen:

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen:

Lost Girls

I was actually looking to hear him talk about From Hell. Next time, when my Google-Fu is actually working…

This little clip is from the documentary “In Search of Steve Ditko” that the BBC aired last year. It’s a part that gives me chills.

Sir Arthur C. Clarke Died

19 March, 2008 (02:25) | InertNet | By: Loris Z.

British science fiction writer Sir Arthur C Clarke has died in Sri Lanka at the age of 90.
Born in Somerset, he came to fame in 1968 when a short story The Sentinel was made into the film 2001: A Space Odyssey by director Stanley Kubrick.
Once called “the first dweller in the electronic cottage”, his vision of future space travel and computing captured the popular imagination.
An aide said he died at 0130 local time after a cardio-respiratory attack.

Two Interesting Links

18 March, 2008 (16:10) | Research | By: Loris Z.

First! This site has a gallery of ad designs from the 40’s to the 60’s. Amazing stuff like this:

And second. Here’s a gallery of old fanzines, centered around Start Trek, Star Wars, Dr. Who and more. Do I have to say it’s not safe for work?
